Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole

A hearty and comforting casserole with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and melted cheese.

For the Crust:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cups thinly sliced potatoes
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground beef with diced onion over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the baking dish. Top with half of the ground beef mixture and half of the soup mixture. Repeat layers.
  5. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top and season with garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
