Description

A moist and flavorful bread filled with chunks of apple and a sweet cinnamon swirl, topped with a simple glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Crust:

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 apples, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 12 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat white sugar and butter until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
  4. Combine flour and baking powder in another bowl, then stir into the butter mixture alternately with milk.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared loaf pan. Layer with half the apples and half the cinnamon-sugar mixture. Repeat layers once more.
  6. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. Mix powdered sugar and milk to make a glaze. Drizzle over the cooled bread before serving.
