Crispy Oven Fried Chicken Delight

A healthier version of fried chicken with a crispy coating, baked to perfection in the oven.

For the Crust:

  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in, skin-on)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place chicken thighs in a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing to coat evenly.
  5. Place coated chicken on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle melted butter over the top.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the chicken is golden brown and crispy, and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
