For the Crust:

  • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled and sliced into rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Gradually add cold water while whisking until a smooth batter forms.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  4. Dip each pineapple ring into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  5. Carefully place the battered rings into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

You can customize the seasonings to taste.
