For the Crust:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, then mix in melted butter and milk.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, stirring until just mixed.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool for 10 minutes, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
