In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas. Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Fold in the chopped pecans.
