  • 12 oz(340g) bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1lb (450g) ground beef
  • 2 tbspolive oil
  • 1small onion, finely chopped
  • 2cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tspItalian seasoning
  • ½ tspred pepper flakes(optional, for spice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbspunsalted butter
  • 2cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbspall-purpose flour
  • 1 cup(240ml) milk (whole or 2%)
  • 1 cup(100g) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup(50g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbspfresh parsley, chopped(for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring alarge pot of salted waterto a boil.
  2. Cook thebowtie pastaaccording to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Before draining,reserve ½ cup of pasta water(to adjust the sauce later).
  4. Drain and set aside.
  5. Heat2 tbsp olive oilin a large skillet over medium heat.
  6. Add theground beefand cook for5-7 minutes, breaking it apart until browned.
  7. Stir inchopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for3 minutesuntil onions are soft.
  8. Season withItalian seasoning, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper.
  9. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  10. Melt3 tbsp butterin the same skillet over medium heat.
  11. Add2 cloves minced garlicand sauté for1 minuteuntil fragrant.
  12. Sprinkle in1 tbsp flour, stirring for1-2 minutesto make a roux.
  13. Slowly pour in1 cup milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps.
  14. Simmer for3 minutesuntil slightly thickened.
  15. Lower heat and stir inmozzarella and Parmesan cheeseuntil melted.
  16. Add thecooked pasta and beef mixtureback into the skillet. Toss everything together.
  17. If the sauce is too thick, adda splash of reserved pasta waterto loosen it.
  18. Transfer to plates or bowls.
  19. Garnish withfresh parsley and extra Parmesan.
  20. Serve immediately and enjoy thecheesy, garlicky goodness!
