Crispy Hot Honey Feta Chicken: A Flavorful Delight

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cupall-purpose flour
  • 2eggs, beaten
  • 1 cupbreadcrumbs (or panko for extra crunch)
  • ½ cupcrumbled feta cheese
  • ¼ cuphot honey
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Begin by setting your oven to 375°F (190°C). Preheating is a crucial step, as it ensures that your chicken will cook evenly and achieve that delightful golden brown crust.
  2. Take each chicken breast and generously sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides. This seasoning step is important to infuse flavor into the chicken. Next, create a breading assembly line: first, coat the chicken in all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess. Then, dip the floured chicken into the beaten eggs before finally pressing it into the breadcrumbs. This triple-dipping process will help create an extra-crispy outer layer.
  3. Heat a couple of tablespoons of olive oil in your skillet over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, add the breaded chicken breasts. Fry them for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they develop a beautiful golden-brown color. This step adds a delicious crunchy texture to the outside while keeping the chicken moist and tender on the inside.
  4. After frying, transfer the browned chicken breasts to your prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the crumbled feta cheese generously over the top of the chicken. Finally, drizzle hot honey on each piece, ensuring an even distribution. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  5. Once done, take the chicken out of the oven and let it rest for a few moments. Serve each piece while still hot and enjoy the delightful combination of flavors alongside your favorite side dishes!

Notes

Make sure your chicken breasts are of even thickness for uniform cooking and panko breadcrumbs can make your crust even crunchier.
