Deep-Fried Strawberry Cheesecake Wonton Bites

Fried wonton bites filled with cheesecake and strawberries are a crowd-pleasing appetizer.

  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped fresh strawberries
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Fold in the chopped strawberries.
  3. Place about 1 teaspoon of the mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  4. Moisten the edges with water, fold in half, and press to seal.
  5. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  6. Fry wontons in batches until golden, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve warm for best results. Be careful with hot oil.
