Fried Pineapple Rings

Sweet and crispy caramelized pineapple rings with a hint of cinnamon, perfect as a dessert or snack.

For the Crust:

  • 1 fresh pineapple, peeled and cored, cut into 1/2-inch rings
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Crust:

  1. In a shallow dish, mix flour, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt. Dredge each pineapple ring in the mixture, shaking off excess.
  2. Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Arrange pineapple rings in a single layer and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  3. Sprinkle granulated sugar evenly over the pineapple rings. Cook for another 1-2 minutes per side until sugar caramelizes.
  4. Transfer to a plate, let cool slightly, and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Serve warm.
