Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combinewarm milkand1 teaspoon of sugar.
  2. Sprinkleactive dry yeastover the milk and let it sit for5-10 minutesuntil it turns frothy.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk togetherflour, sugar, and salt.
  4. Add thefrothy yeast mixture, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  5. Mix until the dough starts to come together.
  6. Transfer the dough to a floured surface.

  12. Place the doughnuts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  13. Cover and let them rise for another30 minutes.
  14. Heatoilin a deep pan to350°F (175°C).
  15. Fry the doughnuts in batches for1-2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
