Homemade Christmas Jam With Berries And Spice

A festive jam made with fresh berries and warm spices, perfect for holiday gifting and breakfast spreads.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups mixed berries (such as raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 packet pectin (1.75 ounces)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the berries: Wash and crush the mixed berries in a large bowl.
  2. Combine ingredients: In a large pot, mix the crushed berries, sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Stir well.
  3. Cook the mixture: Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Add pectin and continue boiling for 1 minute.
  4. Jar the jam: Remove from heat and skim off any foam. Pour into sterilized jars, leaving 1/4 inch headspace.
  5. Process jars: Wipe rims, apply lids, and process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes.
  6. Cool and store: Remove jars and let cool. Check seals and store in a cool, dark place.

Notes

For best results, use fresh, ripe berries. This jam makes about 6 half-pint jars.
