Honey Garlic Chicken Thighs

Tender chicken thighs with a sweet, garlicky glaze, bursts of fresh parsley, and a touch of heat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless chicken thighs, sliced into strips
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine salt
  • 3 garlic cloves, finely minced
  • 60 millilitres honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 80 millilitres chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chili flakes
  • 2 tablespoons flat-leaf parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Combine chicken strips, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl; toss until evenly coated.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together chicken broth, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and honey; set aside.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken in a single layer and cook for about 5 minutes. Turn the strips over and cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Lower heat to medium, add unsalted butter and minced garlic to the pan, stirring for 1 minute until aromatic.
  5. Pour in the honey garlic mixture. Allow the contents to simmer, stirring occasionally, until the sauce reduces and thickens and the chicken is thoroughly cooked through.
  6. Sprinkle in dried chili flakes and fresh parsley. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

Prepare all ingredients before starting to ensure a smooth cooking process and prevent overcooking the chicken.
