Sliced Baked Potatoes Longhorn

Crispy slices of potato baked with olive oil and spices for a tasty side, inspired by classic steakhouse flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Russet potatoes
  • 0.25 teaspoon fine salt
  • 0.125 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.125 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 0.125 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 4 to 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the Russet potatoes.
  2. Using a sharp knife, make horizontal cuts across each potato, slicing no more than halfway through. For a crispier texture, angle the slices as desired.
  3. Set the oven to 200°C.
  4. In a small bowl, combine salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic, and smoked paprika until evenly blended.
  5. Evenly spritz each potato with olive oil, ensuring the oil runs down into the slices. Sprinkle the seasoning blend over each potato, distributing evenly.
  6. Place the seasoned potatoes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and crisp on the edges.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, insert thin slices of onion or fresh herbs between the potato cuts before baking.
