Sous Vide Frozen Chicken Breast – Easy Meal Recipe

An easy and flavorful sous vide frozen chicken breast recipe that delivers perfectly juicy, tender meat straight from the freezer. Ideal for busy weeknights or healthy meal prep.

  • 1 tablespoonolive oil
  • 1 teaspoongarlic powder
  • 1 teaspoononion powder
  • ½ teaspoonsmoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoondried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Optional: fresh herbs (like rosemary or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Fill a large pot with water and attach your sous vide immersion circulator. Set the temperature to 149°F (65°C) and allow the water to preheat.
  2. While the water heats, coat the frozen chicken breasts with olive oil and season evenly with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, thyme, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken in a vacuum-sealed bag or a heavy-duty freezer-safe zip-top bag using the water displacement method to remove air.
  4. Once the water reaches the target temperature, submerge the bagged chicken in the water bath and cook for 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  5. Remove the chicken from the bag and pat it dry thoroughly with paper towels.
  6. Optional: Sear the chicken in a hot skillet with a small amount of olive oil for 1–2 minutes per side for a golden-brown crust.
  7. Slice and serve immediately, or use in salads, bowls, wraps, or meal prep containers.

Notes

You can sous vide straight from frozen—no thawing needed.
Add 30–45 minutes to sous vide time if chicken is especially thick.
Use a food thermometer to verify internal temperature reaches at least 165°F if unsure.
Great for meal prep—store in fridge for up to 4 days.
